Sidney Perez our Chairman retires

Trudie Drake -

After a magnificent 22 years with the charity, and many of them at the helm, our long standing chairman Sidney Perez has decided to retire from ABTA LifeLine.

Sidney has worked in the travel industry for some 65 years and brought to ABTA LifeLine his extensive  knowledge of the industry along with his enthusiasm for helping people in our travel community in real financial need.

More recently he was at the forefront of leading the charity on a new journey;  to rebrand the charity from the ABTA Benevolent Fund to ABTA LifeLine and make it more relevent and enaging for the travel community.

Sidney's aim was always to continue to reach  and help more colleagues and their families in the industry who needed support. The charity to date has  helped over 700 families granting over £700,000 in awards; an achievement to be proud of.

Sidney  will certainly be missed. We wish him all the very very best in his retirement, and thank him for his tireless support and commitment to ABTA LifeLine over the years.

ABTA LifeLine is delighted that Derek Jones, MD of Kuoni, will be taking over as interim Chairman.
