ABTA LifeLine’s Big Charity Week
ABTA LifeLine’s Big Charity Week is taking place 23 – 27 September. This is the charity’s premier fundraising and awareness week that encourages colleagues to get together, host a fun and exciting event – big or small – and raise money in the process.
Whether it’s a dress down down day or a ‘lunch for your lifeline’ there are numerous ways that the industry can get behind the week and support their charity.
Colleagues who email LifeLine@ABTALifeLine.org.uk or tweet @abtalifeline by 19 September what they intend to do for the week will be automatically entered into a prize draw for a chance to win some delicious cakes for their office or shop.
During the week there is also a chance to win £150 of Superbreak vouchers kindly donated by Superbreak.
Throughout the week the ABTA LifeLine will be encouraging Members to spread the word and tell colleagues about how ABTA LifeLine can help them and their families.
At their meeting in June, the Trustees made awards of over £15000 to people in the travel industry, who through no fault of their own, have fallen on hard times.
One award was for a light weight wheelchair for someone who was paralysed as a result of a motorbike accident. Another award was for eye gaze technology for someone with motor neuron disease who needs help with communicating. You can read their stories here.
