Jason, a self-employed tour manager contacted ABTA LifeLine when all his all tours were cancelled or suspended because of Covid-19 and he had no income. He had applied for government self-employed income support but there was a short period until June when he knew he had no money and wouldn't be able to pay the mortgage or bills.

Not having been in this position before Jason wanted some reassurance on the benefits he might be able to claim in addition to his income support. LifeLine referred him to Citizens Advice Manchester (CAM) for the expert benefit advice that he needed.

CAM advised Jason on what additional income help he could claim such as council tax support for the time when he received nil income. In addition, ABTA LifeLine helped him with mortgage payments and gave him food vouchers for that period.

Jason said, ‘I would like to thank you all for the help and support you have given me during this extraordinary and bizarre time. It means so much to me. Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart.’
