With bracingly ferocious winds and 6 feet of snow at the summit, the Freedom Travel Group’s Mount Snowdon Challenge for ABTA LifeLine was exactly that – a challenge!

It had been snowing on Snowdon just the week before our expedition, but thankfully the weather had cleared by the morning of 9 April for our group of 45 hikers to conquer the tallest mountain in Wales.

We started early and eagerly from Llanberis at the foot of Snowdon. We had to take the slightly longer track to ensure that we were on the safest route for the conditions – an extra couple of a kilometres wouldn’t faze us!

As to be expected, the views along the way were absolutely stunning! And the feeling of accomplishment once reaching the summit was second to none! But we couldn’t get distracted as the slippery snow was quite perilous up the top.

After safely making our way back down, we had a mandatory celebratory beer and much-needed rest.

Finally, a MASSIVE thank you to the Freedom Travel Group – over £5000 was raised for ABTA LifeLine! So thank you for all of your efforts in supporting the charity for your travel industry colleagues in need.
