Thrill seekers and experience hunters, gather: it’s time to Ride for your LifeLine

Tuesday 12 October | Cycling 13:30-17:00 | Supper from 18:00

Join travel colleagues and fellow cycling enthusiasts and come Ride for your LifeLine at our unique, high-adrenaline velodrome charity event.

On 12 October, ABTA LifeLine, sponsored by Avis Budget Group, will bring you the extraordinary opportunity to ride the circuit and take part in a flying lap race in the fastest track in the world: the historic Lee Valley VeloPark (the Velodrome).

Located on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London, this state-of-the-art venue is a favourite among Olympians and professional cycling athletes. Who will follow in the 2012 success of Chris Hoy, Laura Kenny, and Philip Hindes and be the fastest cyclist in travel?

Taking place the day before the Travel Convention, there are 32 racing spots available. Spectators or supporters are welcome to attend – see booking details below.

For only £100 donation you will get:

•    Equipment hire - bike, helmet, gloves and cleats

•    Top coaches will be on hand to help you hone your technique and get ready for the sprint race

•    Refreshments and afternoon tea – sandwiches, scones and tea, to keep your energy levels up

•    Adrenaline-fueled track sprint race followed by an award ceremony

•    Access to changing facilities (including showers)

•    Delicious supper in the middle of the track - yes, you read that right!

•    Sense of joy: through ABTA LifeLine, 100% of your donation will go directly to LifeLine to help colleagues in the travel industry who need it most

If you would like to participate in this special day but don’t wish to cycle, spectators are asked to contribute with £45 to watch the exciting race, join the athletes for supper and donate to LifeLine.

Why we need your support

Every week, colleagues in the travel industry struggling with financial, practical and mental health problems reach out to ABTA LifeLine for support. Your donation will help your colleagues, both past and present, in a number of ways: it may help someone with an illness or disability, provide counselling support, replace a washing machine, provide essential food vouchers or help fund training to support someone get back into work. You can rest assured that your donation will be put to very good use helping someone in our industry when they need it most.
