Come join the cycling excursion at the Travel Convention with all proceeds going to LifeLine.
Mallorca is the mecca of European cycling with the number of cycling tourists exceeding 150,000 per year. The routes are spectacular, from quiet country roads to incredible coastal views, castles and monasteries. The island also hosts the Mallorca 312 OK Mobility cycle event where over 8,500 participants compete on 3 courses of differing kilometres.
On our ride you will not only enjoy the spectacular scenery but gain an authentic insight into the world of wine making in Mallorca and why this corner of the island is a perfect place to explore.
We will leave resort at 0730 by bus to Bodegas Jose Luis Ferrer, a wine jewel in the heart of Mallorca. Since 1931 the Ferer family has been dedicated to making wines. Here we will have breakfast before starting our ride along vineyards and orange groves to Finca Biniagual , a hamlet that dates back to the moors.
Finca Biniagual is situated in the heart of the wine-growing district Binissalem. There are 14 houses, a chapel, a historic winery, a Vinoteca as well as a complete, typical Majorcan farm belonging to the traditional Majorcan estate. We will also cycle to the historic town of Biniali whose first settlers date back to prehistoric times. Up to 8 archaeological sites have been discovered including the Cova Monja Cave which has important Talayotic burial sites. We will finally make our way back to Bodegas Jose Luis Ferrer for wine tasting and tapas made from local produce for 1100.
For those going to the leaders’ lunch there will be an early departure to get you back in time to change and get the transfer. For those staying, wine and food tasting will continue until approximately 1300, give or take….
The cost is £65 (charity donation), and you can choose either an electric or pushbike.
