Mental Health and Wellbeing Support

Helping you through worrying times

How we can support your mental health

Please note our office is closed from 23 December to 6 January. If you require urgent support please contact your GP or scroll to the bottom of this page for further details on other agencies that can support you.

As a charity that helps people we see at first hand the pressures some of our travel community are facing. We are very much aware of the impact on mental health caused by:
  • Financial stress – lack of funds, debt, benefit support
  • Uncertainty – loss of job, reduced hours, being furloughed
  • Redundancy – lack of self-esteem and confidence, worry about paying the bills
  • Relationship break down
  • Single parenting – juggling life, insecurity when some or all of your main income has been lost
  • Stress at work
  • Sick children
And with Covid-19 there are additional concerns about:
  • Isolation and feeling lonely
  • Domestic abuse
  • Commitments to working, whilst shielding vulnerable people and having to home school young children etc.
  • Bereavement
But of course there are many other reasons you may be feeling anxious or alone and in need of some support.

ABTA LifeLine has teamed up with The Centre for Crisis Psychology (CCP) to provide you with mental health and wellbeing support; intervention when it really matters.

CCP have extensive experience of working in the travel industry. Not only do they help with trauma care (assisted travel colleagues following the terrorist attacks in Tunisia, Barcelona and the Manchester bombings among other events) they also provide private and confidential counselling to support a range of mental health issues. So whatever mental health support you need, their experienced team will be able to help you. For more information about CCP and what they do, please visit their website.

Eligible applicants will have direct telephone access to clinicians, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to support them.

To apply, please fill out our quick and easy Mental Health Support Form below.

Please provide, proof of ID i.e. passport or driver's license and evidence of having worked/working for an ABTA member i.e. payslip or redundancy letter. These must be uploaded with the form so do ensure you have these documents at hand.

If you have a Doctor’s note or medical evidence to explain your current situation and the support you require, it would be beneficial to include this so we can refer you to CCP with all the information they need to understand your circumstances.

On receipt of the form and governance documents and thereby your consent, we will quickly refer you to CCP who will contact you directly.
