It's fair to say it has been one tough year. I don't think anyone of us envisaged that by Christmas some of us would be in Tier 4 and having a very 'quiet Christmas.' But here we are.

It's an understatement to say that 2020 has been a terrible year for our industry and the wonderful people that work in it.

At LifeLine, we have continued throughout the year to help as many people as possible.  LifeLine has provided crisis grants, redeployment and wellbeing support along with expert guidance on debt, benefits and housing; tailoring it's support to each individual or family. It is clear that 2021 will be just as challenging for some.

For the charity our biggest challenge will be to continue to provide the same level of support and raise the vital funds to do so. But we believe a new year brings with it new opportunities. We see it as a time to reflect on our programme and achievements, and a time to see how we can further improve or develop in order to provide the very best help to our travel community.

The LifeLine team would like to thank all those people that have so kindly supported and helped the charity over the last 12 months, the service partners that have provided the expert help and guidance to our beneficiaries when it was most needed, and those people and partners that have so kindly donated to our LifeLine/Travel Weekly #TravelCares campaign. We can't do what we do without your support.

Going into Christmas, it is important that as a small charity we take a rest and recharge our batteries so that we can face the new year with passion and energy. We will be shutting the office from 23 December to 6 January.

You can still apply to the charity for support over this period, but please be mindful that you application will not be considered until the office reopens. To speed up the application process, we kindly ask you to review the steps on our webpage 'our support' and send all the governance documentation with the  online application form.

If you require any emergency mental health support over Christmas, please go to The NHS for information on a variety of mental health charities that can support you.

For emergency food vouchers, please contact your GP or local food bank.

We will be back before you know it!!

Wishing you all a very happy Christmas.
