ABTA LifeLine and TTG teamed up during Mental Health Awareness Week to Get Travel Talking, share experiences, insights and provide vital support and information to those that might be struggling. The week was also to celebrate our resilience and achievements as we start to come out of lockdown.

The week included leader and agent panels, expert advice from LifeLine's wellbeing partner The Centre for Crisis Psychology, and a walk with nature. The week came to a close with the fabulous 'Feel Good Friday' show on Travel Radio hosted by LifeLine Chair Derek Jones.

All of the interviews and content from the week can be viewed for free here

The highlight on Wellness Wednesday was Mr Motivator's Travel Industry Workout when the legendary TV fitness guru Mr Motivator hosted a live fitness class. It is not too late to take part in the workout, the event can be watched below!

And on Thinking Thursday we ran the Big Interview… With Neil Laybourn, The Stranger on the Bridge - While walking to work on 14 January 2008, a simple act of kindness changed Neil Laybourn’s life forever, as he stopped on Waterloo Bridge to persuade a young man, Jonny Benjamin, from taking his own life. Reunited through social media, the pair have remained firm friends ever since and in 2014 Laybourn’s actions were recognised at the Pride of Britain Awards, and the following year, retold in an award-winning Channel 4 documentary, Stranger on the Bridge. One of the UK’s leading mental health advocates, he joined Get Travel Talking Week to share his amazing story and offer advice and experiences that prove anyone can make a difference.

We would like to thank TTG Media for working with us on such a great week and everyone that got involved. Our mission now is to keep those conversations going, keep mental health and welllbeing at the forefront as travel recovers and to continue providing the support our travel colleagues need.
